01.31.04 Not a good idea: It is not a good idea to find a strange fruit (vegetable? seed? I'm not going to taste it) in your backyard and then try to photograph it in such a manner as to indicate it is an offering to readers of some online journal and then immediately Clorox a countertop. Because: The resulting flash burn on the retina appears as a stubborn stain and much useless scrubbing will be done.
Not a good idea: Rent some videos from a local family-owned video store and then forget to return them for a couple of weeks. And when you do return them, do so shamefully after hours so all you have to do is slip them through the late night slot so you don't have to see anyone. Because: When the store announces they are going out of business a month later, not only will you will be certain your delinquent late fees are the cause, you will struggle with certain anomie; pay the late fee or wait until they close their doors forever and forget about it. Not a good idea: Buy an onion and don't use it for a long time. Because: It wants to live and you might name it and some point you will feel guilty when you are ready to make tuna salad.
