Rocket Creme

I paint my toenails every day with Loreal Jet-Set Quick Dry #413, Rocket Creme. It's very dark and very red. I have been doing this for several years for two reasons.

  1. This tiny bottle of Loreal #413 has never run out. It's like the lamp  Hanukkah is made of.  But rather than commemorating the rededication of the Temple of Jerusalem after its defilement by Antiochus of Syria, I am commemorating the miracle of everlasting Loreal. And the miracle of dark red toenails in summer sandals.

  2. Between about 3:00PM  EST and11:ooPM EST each day, I derive tremendous satisfaction from peeling it off. Unlike other nasty habits like chewing fingernails and hair twirling, there are no permanent repercussions. No hangnails, no split ends, just an OCD-like sense of contentment and a pile of curled up pieces of Rocket Creme littered about where I happen to be sitting that can be scooped up in an instant.

The briefness of this entry, the lack of previous updates and any delay in answering e-mail since the beginning of July is brought to you by some 14 year old punk who wrote a computer virus that permanently destroyed my computer.

I get about 15 minutes between lengthy reboots to upload and backup five years of files I wish to save. It's an extraordinarily time consuming process--this entry alone took about 45 minutes. Luckily, just prior to this event, I was able to make a remarkable comeback playing the $3/$6 tables at TruePoker allowing me to purchase a new machine which should be arriving next week.  God bless poker, God bless the Marquis for encouraging me not to quit while I was tilty, and God bless Loreal.
