Photo Heavy Because Sometimes It's Hard To Speak
These are images of the first holiday in the
dome. They are ill-composed, out of focus and poorly lit.
Which is pretty much how it felt. Without getting too maudlin,
I don't do holidays well since my dad died. I always think
it's going to get easier, but with each new thing that happens
in my life? All I want to do is tell him about it.

A tiny ice storm hit my Florida town
last week. It lasted for a couple of hours and completely
screwed up crops all over the region. It might have looked
pretty, but small family-owned farms are going out of
business. And your orange juice might cost more than a gallon
of gas in a few months.

Here are two shots from the Kitty Post-Op. Pai Gow and Kismet were sliced and diced on
Thursday, ensuring no incestuous offspring grace the dome. (You are
playing Amy's
scavenger hunt, right? Here's your clue. Two. New.
Kittens. And sometimes I write about poker.)

I've only donated money and time to one
presidential campaign in my entire life. Sing it with me. The horse I endorsed was the source of great force (in Iowa
last week). I spent the evening watching the caucuses from the
kitchen, and on the internet chat machine. (I panic-IMed Internet
Chef BG
with a list of ingredients in my house and he walked me
through a rather edible chicken cacciatore, despite it being
purple due to adding too much Target wine-in-a-box Shiraz to
the mix.)
I dined well and watched my horse come in.

And, finally. A deepstack blogger
tourney, outside of Al's Riverchasers, that doesn't start at
an ungodly hour during the week! The Bodog
poker blogger tournament runs on Tuesday nights at 9pm.
Bodog gives out a bunch of tournament credits to the top 5
finishers, and also to the 5 bubblers. You can personally
thank Smokee for this one.
I'll be there while watching the New Hampshire primaries this
week. If I'm lucky, maybe BG will Internet-Chef-Chat me
through another recipe for the occasion.
